Delicious Mushroom Turnovers with 6 simple steps

 

A delicious oven baked mushroom dish, served with gravy. The dish can be served as main course, as well as a starter or finger food if you make them the size of spring rolls. For vegan options simply change the butter to cooking oil, and everything else is the same, you probably have it figured out long time ago, hehe. Any here is the dish

Ingredients

Filling
250 grams of medium-sized mushrooms
One ounce of butter
Salt and Ground pepper to taste

For the pastry
250 grams of wheatmeal
3 ounces of butter (or 3 tablespoons of frying oil).

Preparation steps

1. Mix the pastry with wheatmeal, butter/oil, and a little water.

2. Pick and wash the mushrooms, cut them up in small pieces dredge them with pepper and salt, and fry them in the butter for about 5 to 10 minutes.

3. Roll the pastry out, cut it into squares of approximately 4 inches.

4. Add as much fried mushrooms on each squares as it will conveniently hold.

5. Press the edges of each square together, folding them in triangular shape, and bake them in and oven with moderate heat for an hour.

6. Serve with vegetarian gravy.
